REFUND POLICY

A student may receive a full or partial refund of tuition and fee charges for online courses if he/she completes and submits the appropriate Add/Drop or Withdrawal form to the Registrar's Office. To initiate a drop or withdrawal of online courses, please contact your academic advisor/counselor.

DROPPING OF ONLINE COURSES: Please refer to the following table to determine the refund, if any, pertaining to online courses that are dropped.

Dropped Online Courses Refund Percentage
Prior to Week 1 of online course 100%
Through Week 1, prior to Week 2      80%
Through Week 2, prior to Week 3      70%
Week 3 and thereafter 0%

IMPORTANT: The terminology (Week 1, Week 2, Week 3) used above corresponds with Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, as defined by the online course curriculum or syllabus. It should be noted, however, that when a student enters, or logs into, a specific week, the student is considered to have participated in that particular week of the online course for purposes of computing any subsequent course refund. The date or time a student logs into a specific week of the course, or the duration of time actually spent on a particular week, will have no bearing on the calculation of the online course refund.
When a student drops and adds an equal number of online courses within the same academic term, it is considered an even exchange and no prorated refund will be calculated. If a student drops and adds online courses within different academic terms, a refund for online courses dropped will be determined based on the refund percentages listed above. Online courses added will be charged at the full tuition rates for online courses. In either case, the student will be subject to an add/drop fee of $25 as well as any other applicable fees.

FULL WITHDRAWAL FROM FVC: A full withdrawal from FVC consists of a concurrent withdrawal from all online courses, as well as any traditional classroom courses. Please refer to the following table to determine the refund, if any, pertaining to the student's full withdrawal from FVC.

Withdrawal From All Courses Refund Percentage
Through Day 1 of the academic term 100%
Day 2 through Day 11 of the academic term 90%
Day 12 through Day 28 of the academic term 50%
Day 29 through Day 31 of the academic term 25%
Day 32 of the academic term and thereafter 0%

In the event that an online course is canceled by FVC, a refund equal to 100% of the tuition and fee charges for the online course will be issued. Late registration and/or non-participation in the online course will have no bearing on refunds.
Students suspended by FVC for academic or disciplinary reasons will not be entitled to a refund of any tuition or fees.
Cash refunds of credit balances on student accounts will require a minimum of two weeks processing time after the student has officially withdrawn through the Registrar's Office. However, no credit balances resulting from financial aid transactions will be refunded until two weeks after the add/drop period closes, as specified by FVC's current semester "Schedule of Classes." A refund will be issued only if the student's account balance is paid in full

.

Refunds upon dismissal or suspension are the same as for voluntary withdrawal and are based on total tuition paid in full upon acceptance.
